Metropole Wien – Band I: Österreich und die Nachbarn im Osten. Zusammenarbeit im Rahmen der europäischen Integration

Abstract

Die Studie untersucht die wechselseitigen Zusammenhänge der Integration im Westen und des politischen und wirtschaftlichen Umbruchs im Osten auf Österreich sowie insbesondere auf Wien. Aufgrund der geographischen Lage und seiner historischen Verbindungen ist Österreich wirtschaftlich enger als andere westliche Länder mit Osteuropa verbunden. Diesem Umstand ist es zuzuschreiben, daß Österreich rascher als erwartet erhebliche Vorteile aus der Ostöffnung gezogen hat, daß es aber auch stärker als andere westliche Länder dem Wettbewerbsdruck der Oststaaten ausgesetzt ist.
