Teilstudie 18: Elemente einer Wachstumspolitik für den ländlichen Raum

Abstract

Das wichtigste Charakteristikum, das den ländlichen Raum von urbanen und integrierten Räumen unterscheidet, ist die geringe Bevölkerungsdichte. Daraus ergeben sich spezifische Nachteile, wie etwa lange Verkehrswege und die geringe Konzentration der Wirtschaftsaktivitäten. Zu den Strategien, die das Wachstum im ländlichen Raum steigern können, gehören die Hebung der Erwerbsbeteiligung, vor allem von Frauen, die Verbesserung der Bildungsmöglichkeiten sowie der Qualität des Tourismusangebotes und die dezentrale Bereitstellung nachwachsender Rohstoffe. Eine Voraussetzung ist die ausreichende Versorgung mit Infrastruktur, damit moderne Kommunikations- und Informationstechnologien dezentral effektiv eingesetzt werden können.
