Abstract

The Legal Practice Course Guides provide a guide to the law, practice, and procedure at the heart of the Legal Practice Course. Each Guide explains the relevant substantive and procedural law, and where appropriate, contains sample precedents, documents, and checklists. The Guides form a bridge between the notes, exercises, and case studies produced by LPC providers and the often technical material found in practitioner texts. This Guide has been written for students taking electives in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions on the Legal Practice Course. It is essential for those wishing to work in the city firms. It offers a practical and comprehensive guide to the regulation of, and practical legal processes involved in, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions transactions. It has been fully revised to take into account the current module structure of corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions on the 'City LPC', offering detailed coverage of all key topics discussed. It has been written by both practitioners and teachers of the subject so it has both a practical and academic feel, enabling students to gain a clear understanding of the specialist subject before they take up their training contract.
