Abstract

Volumul Evidenta si cercetare: o reconstructie pragmatista a epistemologiei, al autoarei Susan Haack, in traducere de Catalina-Daniela Raducu trateaza pe parcursul a doua parti Evidenta si cercetare si Eseuri selectate, epistemologia din perspectiva unei reconstructii pragmatiste. In partea introductiva autoarea prezinta Funderentismul ca noua teorie despre formarea si justificarea convingerilor, precum si Cuvant inainte la editia a doua. Partea I a lucrarii dezbate aspecte privind relatia dintre fundationism si coerentism, subminarea fundationismului si destabilizarea coerentismului, elaborarea funderentismului, evidenta simturilor, prin respingeri si conjecturi. Tot pe parcursul acestei prime parti sunt dezbatute clarificarea naturalismului, o evidenta impotriva reliabilismului, rasturnarea scientismului revolutionar precum si pragmatismul vulgar si ratificarea funderentismului. Partea a doua Eseuri selectate vine cu patru noi capitole, in cadrul celei de-a doua editii. În Primul, „’Stiu’ este doar un cuvant compus din patru litere” (1983), este inclus pentru timpuria formulare a ideii de comprehensivitate. Cel de-al doilea capitol, „Cunoastere si propaganda: reflectii ale unei vechi feministe” (1983), argumenteaza faptul ca nu exista o legatura intre feminism si epistemologie, asa cum o cere eticheta „epistemologie feminista”. Cel de-al treilea capitol, „’Etica convingerii’ reanalizata” (1997), introdus pentru a clarifica relatia dintre evaluarea epistemologica si cea etica argumenteaza faptul ca evaluarea epistemologica si cea etica sunt distincte. Cel de-al patrulea capitol, „Epistemologia legalizata” (2004) reprezinta un raspuns adus criticii lui Peirce la adresa procedurii legale adversariale dar si criticii lui Jeremy Bentham la adresa regulilor de excludere a evidentei.
