Abstract

Describe e interpreta los cambios ocurridos en las estructuras de estratificación ocupacional desde 1950 hasta 1970, sobre la base de la información proporcionada por los censos de población de América Latina. Analiza los conceptos básicos relativos a la estratificación y movilidad social en relación con el desarrollo económico de los países. Examina la movilidad social estructural y el crecimiento de la clase media; aspectos relativos a la diferenciación interna y el crecimiento; la movilidad demográfica. Incluye un apéndice metodológico en que se indica la forma en que se analizó la información.
