Abstract

La adopción de regímenes de metas de inflación en los últimos años por parte de un buen número de países en ALC, entre otros, ha dado un fuerte impulso a las tareas de investigación, centrado principalmente en mejorar la modelación del funcionamiento de la economía para lograr un empleo más eficaz y calibrado del funcionamiento de la economía para lograr un empleo más eficaz y calibrado de la tasa de interés como principal instrumento de la política monetaria. Un aspecto esencial es la medición de variables económicas no observables. En este libro se presenta una colección de artículos acerca de la estimación y otras consideraciones teóricas y empíricas acerca del PIB potencial, la tasa de interés natura de equilibrio, el tipo de cambio real de equilibrio y la tasa natural de desempleo.
