Abstract

Immer dann, wenn vor unseren Augen Neues, Unglaubliches, ja Umwälzendes geschieht, laufen die Begriffsspezialisten in Wissenschaft und Medien zur Höchstform auf. Sie versuchen, das Unbegreifliche zu verstehen und erklärbar zu machen. Wie etwa ist das Phänomen Donald Trump zu fassen? Haben wir es tatsächlich mit Faschismus zu tun? Oder mit einer modernen Plutokratie? Der Politikwissenschaftler Wolfgang Merkel bringt eine dritte Kategorie ins Spiel.
