Terrorismus und Kindersterblichkeit: Wie der Anstieg von Anschlägen die Gesundheit von Kindern in Afrika bedroht

Abstract

Welchen Zusammenhang gibt es zwischen Terrorismus und Kindersterblichkeit? Daniel Meierrieks und Max Schaub zeigen mithilfe von Daten für 52 afrikanische Länder im Zeitraum 2000 bis 2017: Mehr Terrorismus führt zu mehr Kindersterblichkeit. Terrorismus wirkt nicht direkt durch Tod und Zerstörung auf die Kindersterblichkeit, sondern auf indirekte Weise, indem er zu Verhaltensänderungen bei Eltern und anderen Personengruppen führt, die sich um die Gesundheit von Kindern kümmern.
