Abstract

In Europa nimmt die Zahl der Programme zu, die Geflüchtete zu einer freiwilligen Rückkehr in ihre Herkunftsländer bewegen sollen. Die eigene Entscheidung gilt als die humanere Alternative zur Abschiebung. Doch wie frei sind solche Entscheidungen? Aus welchen Gründen geben Menschen ihr Migrationsprojekt auf – und warum wollen viele im Zielland bleiben, auch wenn ihre wirtschaftliche oder rechtliche Situation prekär ist? Julia Stier und Judith Altrogge haben Migrant*innen und Expert*innen aus Senegal und Gambia befragt.
