Abstract

Arbeit muss sich lohnen. So lautet, kurz gefasst, das Mantra einer Leistungsgesellschaft, in der jeder und jede aus eigener Anstrengung vorankommen sollte. Eine neue Studie zeigt, dass der moralische Kompass der meisten Menschen anders funktioniert: Es wird weithin als gerecht empfunden, wenn jemand aufgrund besserer Ausgangsbedingungen besser arbeitet und mehr verdient. Eine verhaltensökonomische Anfrage an das Prinzip der Meritokratie.
