Zwischen Fakten und Fiktion: Wie industrielle Desinformation die Demokratie bedroht

Abstract

Autokratisierung und Desinformation sind zu drängenden Problemen für Demokratien weltweit geworden. Unter Autokratisierung versteht man die allmähliche Erosion demokratischer Institutionen und den Aufstieg autoritärer Herrschaft. Desinformation ist die Verbreitung falscher oder irreführender Informationen mit der Absicht der Täuschung. Seit einiger Zeit ist sie ein profitabler Wirtschaftssektor. Die Autorinnen analysieren das Zusammenspiel beider Phänomene und illustrieren, wie sie die Stabilität demokratischer Systeme weltweit bedrohen.
