Abstract

Der Plan der Europäischen Union, bis zur vollständigen Umstellung ihrer Ökonomie auf erneuerbare Energien billiges Gas aus Russland zu beziehen, wurde mit dem Angriff Russlands auf die Ukraine hinfällig. Die Handelsbeziehungen, insbesondere die Liefermengen von Gas und Öl, wurden radikal heruntergefahren. Das gefährdete nicht nur die unmittelbare Energieversorgung in den EU-Staaten, sondern auch die Übergangsstrategie bis zum Erreichen der Klimaneutralität. Die Versuche der Länder, angesichts der Energiekrise Lösungen zum Schutz der jeweils eigenen Wirtschaft zu finden, gehen potenziell zulasten der anderen EU-Partner und erhöhen das Konfliktpotenzial innerhalb der Europäischen Union.
