Abstract

Von Fußball über Kirchen bis zur Feuerwehr: Vereine und Verbände sind nicht nur Orte für Freizeitaktivitäten und soziales Engagement, sondern auch Orte, in denen die Zivilgesellschaft ihr Zusammenleben organisiert, Konflikte verhandelt, Demokratie ausübt. Umso wichtiger ist die Frage nach der Rolle, die sie im Kampf gegen antidemokratische Entwicklungen einnehmen (können). Sehen sie sich als Bollwerk gegen Bedrohungen oder nehmen sie diese gar nicht wahr? Hierzu gibt es noch keine systematischen Erhebungen. Saara Inkinen und Wolfgang Schroeder haben erste Erkenntnisse gesammelt.
