Eine Frage des Vertrauens: Warum Menschen die Corona-Impfung ablehnen

Abstract

Um noch größere Schäden durch die Pandemie zu verhindern, müssen möglichst viele Menschen möglichst schnell geimpft werden. So klar die wissenschaftlichen Belege hierfür, so beharrlich ist der Widerstand eines kleinen, aber harten Kerns gegen die Impfung. Einer Umfrage zufolge unterscheiden sich Impfverweiger*innen von den Geimpften und Impfbereiten vor allem durch ihr äußerst geringes Vertrauen in gesellschaftliche Institutionen, sodass die Politik hier vor einem Dilemma steht: Für Appelle und Aufklärungskampagnen sind die Impfverweiger*innen kurzfristig wohl kaum erreichbar – eine Impfpflicht hingegen dürfte ihr Misstrauen weiter verstärken.
