Abstract

Die herrschende Pandemie belegt es erneut: Der Gesundheitszustand der Menschen hängt immer noch stark von ihrer sozialen Lage ab, selbst in reichen Volkswirtschaften. Doch wie unterscheidet sich das Ausmaß gesundheitlicher Ungleichheiten zwischen den Ländern Europas? Eine laufende Studie zeigt: Es kommt auch darauf an, wie gemessen wird. Neue Einsichten zum „Nordischen Paradox“, zum „Südeuropäischen Wunder“ und zum „Osteuropäischen Desaster“.
