Large Cases Unit: Erkenntnisse aus fünf Jahren Arbeit

Abstract

Die Large Cases Unit (LCU) der Statistischen Ämter des Bundes und der Länder hat im Jahr 2020 ihre Arbeit aufgenommen. Sie untersucht seitdem große multinationale Unternehmensgruppen und ihre Untergliederungen auf Kohärenz der in der amtlichen Statistik vorliegenden Daten. Einbezogen in die Prüfungen werden auch externe Datenquellen. Die Aufklärung erkannter Inkohärenzen dient dazu, die Qualität der Volkswirtschaftlichen Gesamtrechnungen und der zugrunde liegenden Wirtschaftsstatistiken zu sichern. Der Artikel beschreibt Fallauswahl, Datenquellen und Kohärenzprüfungen und informiert über die wichtigsten Erkenntnisse der bisherigen LCU-Arbeit.
