Die Lage am Stahlmarkt: Produktion steigt wieder, Probleme bleiben

Abstract

Die wirtschaftliche Lage der deutschen Stahlindustrie hat sich seit dem Herbst 2020 wieder deutlich verbessert. Dadurch konnte der Rückgang der Rohstahlerzeugung im vergangenen Jahr auf 10% begrenzt werden. Zwar haben sich die Rohstoffe für die Stahlerzeugung deutlich verteuert, nicht zuletzt aufgrund der steigenden Nachfrage Chinas. Die erhöhten Kosten konnten aber an die Abnehmer weitergegeben werden, zumal Stahl derzeit auf dem Weltmarkt knapp ist. Da zudem die Arbeitskosten durch einen Stellenabbau reduziert werden konnten, hat sich die Erlössituation der Branche verbessert. Im Jahr 2021 wird sich die Produktion der Stahlverwender wohl weiter erholen. Zudem stocken letztere wohl wieder ihre Lagerbestände auf. Die Rohstahlerzeugung dürfte daher um 13,2% gegenüber dem Vorjahr zunehmen. Für 2022 wird eine nur noch eine leichte Zunahme der Rohstahlerzeugung erwartet, da die Nachfrage verlangsamt zunimmt, und die Einfuhren weiter steigen. Der Beschäftigungsabbau wird sich im Prognosezeitraum fortsetzen aber verlangsamen.
