Regionale Beschäftigungsstruktur wissensintensiver Industrien am Beispiel der Pharmabranche

Abstract

Forschungsintensive Branchen wie die Pharmaindustrie stehen aufgrund ihrer guten Wachstumsperspektiven im Fokus der Regionalpolitik. Die Bedeutung der Pharmabranche für die regionalen Industriestandorte ist in Deutschland unterschiedlich stark ausgeprägt. Zudem weichen in den Regionen die Qualifikationsstrukturen in der Pharmaindustrie voneinander ab. Die Pharmaindustrie eignet sich damit besonders für die Analyse des Einflusses von Standortfaktoren wie Industriestruktur und Humankapital auf die regionale Bedeutung und Qualifikationsstruktur wissensintensiver Branchen. Die Studie gibt erste Hinweise darauf, dass Pharmaunternehmen bei ihrer Standortwahl sowohl die Industriestruktur als auch den Bildungsstand der ansässigen Bevölkerung berücksichtigen. Bei der Ausgestaltung der regionalen Beschäftigungsstruktur scheinen dagegen andere Faktoren bedeutender zu sein.
