Abstract

In the present paper, the Sznajd model of opinion formation with multi-valued opinions for the temperatureT > 0has been used for investigation of the election results in a population ofNindividuals represented by the nodes of a square lattice. Presence of temperature means that the population under consideration is open for the effect of external information. The distribution of opinions during the election campaign was found for different values of temperature and length of election campaign preceding the election. Comparison of the results of election to the Polish Parliament in the town with the population consisting 750000 voters, shows quite good agreement with the results of our calculations.
