Europäische Wirtschaftspolitik 2025. Auf der Suche nach Lösungen für langfristige Strukturprobleme

Abstract

Das Jahr 2025 war in der EU und im Euro-Raum von einem moderaten Wirtschaftswachstum von 1,5% geprägt. Der Arbeitsmarkt blieb robust und die Arbeitslosenquote sehr niedrig. Die Inflationsrate im Euro-Raum erreichte beinahe den Zielwert von 2% und stabilisierte sich, weshalb die Europäische Zentralbank die Leitzinsen ab der Jahresmitte unverändert ließ. Abgesehen vom Handelskonflikt mit den USA bestimmten 2025 langfristige strukturelle Herausforderungen die Diskussionen über die EU-Wirtschaftspolitik. Sie kreisten demnach um die Spar- und Investitionsunion (SIU), die Stärkung der internationalen Rolle des Euro sowie die Vorschläge für den nächsten Mehrjährigen Finanzrahmen. Die hohe Abhängigkeit europäischer Anleger:innen von amerikanischen Vermögenswerten und der Wechselkursentwicklung unterstreicht die Dringlichkeit der Vollendung der SIU.
