Herausforderungen und Determinanten der Wettbewerbsfähigkeit in Zeiten globaler Unsicherheit. Ergebnisse der WIFO-Industriebefragung 2025

Abstract

Das WIFO befragte im Frühjahr 2025 zum vierten Mal die größten österreichischen Industrieunternehmen zu Wettbewerbsstrategien, Wertschöpfungsketten, Kompetenzaufbau und Standortpolitik. Die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit der österreichischen Unternehmen fußt neben ihrer Fähigkeit, Produkte an Kundenwünsche anzupassen, auf dem Kundenvertrauen und der Produktqualität. Wettbewerbsnachteile werden mit Blick auf die Digitalisierung, die Effizienz der Produktionsmethoden und die preisliche Wettbewerbsfähigkeit verortet. Die Bereitschaft der befragten Unternehmen, zumindest Teile ihrer Produktion ins Ausland zu verlagern, hat zugenommen. Die derzeit von globalen Risikofaktoren bestimmte wirtschaftspolitische Unsicherheit hemmt Investitionen und begünstigt Produktionsverlagerungen. Infolge der schwachen Industriekonjunktur dürften die Unternehmen ihren technologischen Kompetenzaufbau an das veränderte Umfeld angepasst haben.
