Einbruch im europäischen Bauwesen. Euroconstruct-Prognose bis 2026

Abstract

Das Wirtschaftswachstum in Europa war im Jahr 2023 gedämpft, was auch den Bausektor negativ beeinflusste. Daneben wirkten vor allem die ungünstige Entwicklung der Baupreise und die Zinspolitik der Europäischen Zentralbank hemmend. Das Bauvolumen in den 19 Euroconstruct-Ländern sank 2023 real um 1,7% im Vergleich zum Vorjahr. Prognosen deuten zwar auf eine leichte Belebung der Gesamtwirtschaft im Jahr 2024 hin, jedoch wird nur ein schwaches BIP-Wachstum von durchschnittlich 1,3% erwartet. Die Lage im Bauwesen bleibt aufgrund hoher Baupreise und Finanzierungskosten sowie geringerer Kaufkraft angespannt. Der Hochbau wird folglich weiterhin unter Druck stehen. Lediglich der Tiefbau dürfte von öffentlichen Investitionen in Verkehrsinfrastruktur und erneuerbare Energieträger profitieren. Insgesamt wird für 2024 ein Rückgang des realen Bauvolumens in Europa um 2,1% erwartet. Das österreichische Bauwesen kann sich diesen Entwicklungen nicht entziehen. Hinzu kommen Sonderfaktoren wie eine restriktivere Kreditvergabe, die vor allem den Wohnbau zusätzlich belasten. In Österreich wird das Bauvolumen im Jahr 2024 um voraussichtlich 4,1% schrumpfen. Eine kräftigere Belebung des heimischen Bauwesens wird erst für 2026 erwartet.
