Teuerung und geopolitische Unsicherheit belasten Tourismus

Abstract

Hohe Infektionszahlen und die Maßnahmen zur Pandemiebekämpfung, insbesondere die behördlich angeordneten Betretungsverbote von Unterkunftsbetrieben für touristische Zwecke, trübten das wirtschaftliche Umfeld für den heimischen Tourismus auch im zweiten Jahr der COVID-19-Pandemie. Mit der weitgehenden Aufhebung der Maßnahmen ab Februar 2022 zog jedoch die Nachfrage bis August stetig an, sodass sich in der Sommersaison die Lücke zur Saison 2019 merklich verkleinerte. Der Ausblick auf die Wintersaison 2022/23 ist aufgrund der Folgen des Ukraine-Krieges ungewiss: Die hohe Teuerung und der erwartete Einbruch der Konjunktur in Österreich und anderen europäischen Ländern, insbesondere in Deutschland, könnten die Ausgabenfreudigkeit der privaten Haushalte merklich dämpfen.
