Kräftiger Aufschwung verschärft Preisdruck und Lieferprobleme

Abstract

Der Aufschwung der Weltwirtschaft setzte so unerwartet früh und kräftig ein, dass die Produktion hinterherhinkt, Lagerbestände geräumt werden und Lieferengpässe entstehen. Dies führt zu beträchtlichen Preissteigerungen, die die Wucht des Aufschwungs zunehmend bremsen. In Österreich war das Wirtschaftswachstum im II. Quartal 2021 (+3,6% gegenüber dem Vorquartal) deutlich höher als im Durchschnitt des Euro-Raumes (+2,2%), vor allem aufgrund der schwungvollen Dynamik im Gastgewerbe. Im Laufe des Sommers hat das BIP bereits das Vorkrisenniveau überschritten. Sowohl die Arbeitslosigkeit als auch die Langzeitbeschäftigungslosigkeit tendierten zuletzt abwärts.
