COVID-19-Pandemie in Mittel-, Ost- und Südosteuropa: Tiefste Rezession seit der Transformationskrise

Abstract

Das reale BIP wird 2020 unter den Ländern Mittel-, Ost- und Südosteuropas in der Slowakei, in Slowenien, Kroatien und Montenegro am stärksten schrumpfen. Dies spiegelt entweder ein hohes Maß an Anfälligkeit für Störungen des Welthandels oder eine besondere Abhängigkeit vom Tourismus wider. Während einige MOSOEL ihre Fiskalpolitik erheblich lockern können, um den Abschwung abzuschwächen, sind die Möglichkeiten der externen Finanzierung in den meisten Ländern der Region sehr begrenzt. Mit dem Wachstumseinbruch und der Ausweitung der Haushaltsdefizite wird die öffentliche Verschuldung im Verhältnis zum BIP stark steigen. Aufgrund ihrer Abhängigkeit von umfangreichen Kapitalzuflüssen wird die Unterbrechung dieser Zuflüsse die Ukraine, Moldawien und viele Westbalkanländer besonders belasten.
