Zähe Konjunktur nach kräftigem Rebound. Prognose für 2020 und 2021

Abstract

Im Frühjahr war die Weltwirtschaft aufgrund der pandemiebedingten Schutzmaßnahmen massiv eingebrochen. Der Wertschöpfungsverlust wurde im Sommer teilweise wettgemacht, in Österreich dürfte die Wertschöpfung im III. Quartal gegenüber dem Vorquartal um mehr als 10% gewachsen sein. Rund die Hälfte des krisenbedingten Anstieges der Arbeitslosigkeit wurde bis September abgebaut. Im IV. Quartal wird sich die Konjunkturdynamik aufgrund auslaufender Rebound-Effekte (Lösung des Konsumrückstaus) und eines Anstieges der Infektionszahlen jedoch markant verlangsamen. Für das Jahr 2020 wird insgesamt ein BIP-Rückgang von 6,8% gegenüber 2019 prognostiziert, für 2021 ein Anstieg von 4,4%. Ein neuerlicher Lockdown im Herbst könnte diese Raten um 2,5 bzw. 4,0 Prozentpunkte senken.
