Unternehmensgröße und Beschäftigungsentwicklung. Eine Analyse methodischer Alternativen mit österreichischen Daten

Abstract

Für die Analyse des Zusammenhanges zwischen der Unternehmensgröße und der Arbeitsplatzschaffung hat die Wahl der Methode der Zuordnung von Unternehmen zu Größenklassen erhebliche Bedeutung. Insbesondere die Schätzung unterjähriger Daten (z. B. Quartalsdaten) sollte, wie der Vergleich von vier alternativen Methoden zeigt, auf einer dynamischen Methode basieren. Diese Methode vermeidet die asymmetrische Zuordnung von Beschäftigungsgewinnen zur nächsthöheren und Arbeitsplatzverlusten zur nächstniedrigeren Größenklasse, erfüllt das Kriterium der Additivität von Veränderungen über die Zeit und erlaubt, Gründungen und Schließung zu berücksichtigen.
