Einbruch des BIP im I. Quartal

Abstract

Die österreichische Wirtschaft schrumpfte im I. Quartal 2009 gegenüber dem Vorquartal real um 2,8%, nach –0,4% im IV. Quartal des Vorjahres. Der Einbruch des Welthandels setzte sich im I. Quartal fort und beeinträchtigte die österreichischen Exporte stark. Dies hatte auch einen erheblichen Rückgang der Investitionen zur Folge. Der private Konsum war dagegen stabil. Die Kurzarbeitsprogramme können die Verschlechterung der Lage auf dem Arbeitsmarkt nur mildern. Vertrauensindikatoren und einige Sonderfaktoren deuten eine Abschwächung des Abwärtstrends der internationalen Wirtschaft im II. Quartal an. In Österreich sollten die Einkommensteuerreform und die Verschrottungsprämie dem privaten Konsum zusätzliche Impulse geben.
