Internationale Wettbewerbsposition der Verkehrsunternehmen und der verkehrsspezifischen Güterproduktion

Abstract

Die Verkehrsunternehmen und die Zulieferung für den Verkehr beschäftigen rund 370.000 Arbeitskräfte, der Anteil ihrer Wertschöpfung am Bruttoinlandsprodukt beträgt 10,4%. Mit der Liberalisierung des Dienstleistungssektors in der EU verstärkte sich in Österreich der Wettbewerbsdruck der ausländischen Verkehrsunternehmen. Die Importe von Verkehrsleistungen nahmen ab 2002 stärker zu als die Exporte, der Außenhandelssaldo war aber 2007 noch leicht positiv. Die heimischen Produzenten von Waren für den Verkehr konnten sich hingegen auf den Exportmärkten gut behaupten.
