Starke Industrie treibt Konjunktur

Abstract

Die österreichische Wirtschaft wuchs im I. Quartal um Saison- und Arbeitstagseffekte bereinigt, gegenüber der Vorperiode real um 0,9%. Die Sachgütererzeugung und die Bauwirtschaft expandierten kräftig. Die Auftragslage ist weiterhin hervorragend, die Ergebnisse des WIFO-Konjunkturtests vom Mai weisen auf eine Ausweitung der Industrieproduktion hin, deren Höhepunkt dürfte aber bereits erreicht sein. Während der Einzelhandel einen guten Geschäftsgang meldete, war die Wertschöpfung des privaten Konsums im I. Quartal erneut verhalten. Die Veränderungsrate wurde durch den wetterbedingten Rückgang des Brennstoffverbrauchs gedrückt. Die gute Konjunktur wirkt sich positiv auf den Arbeitsmarkt aus, die Zahl der unselbständigen Beschäftigten stieg im Mai um 2,0%.
