Abstract

Österreichs Wirtschaft verzeichnete im vergangenen Jahr mit +3,2% das stärkste Wirtschaftswachstum seit dem Jahr 2000. Die Unternehmensumfragen deuten auf ein Anhalten dieser kräftigen Expansion in den kommenden Monaten hin. Der Konjunkturimpuls wird sich dabei vom Export zu den Investitionen verlagern. Nach wie vor bleibt der Konsum hinter dieser Entwicklung zurück, jedoch stimmen die Situation auf dem Arbeitsmarkt und die Befragungen zum Verbrauchervertrauen vorsichtig optimistisch. Die Inflation ist angesichts des raschen Wachstums untypisch niedrig. Aufgrund der starken Konjunktur und des milden Winterwetters entwickelte sich der Arbeitsmarkt im Februar überaus günstig: Die Beschäftigung stieg deutlich, und die Arbeitslosigkeit konnte weiter verringert werden.
