Aufschwung verzögert sich

Abstract

Der WIFO-Konjunkturtest für das III. Quartal zeigt für die Unternehmen der Sachgütererzeugung eine leichte Verbesserung der Exportaufträge, allerdings gleichzeitig eine Eintrübung der Produktionserwartungen. Die Ergebnisse des WIFO-Investitionstests, die niedrige Kapazitätsauslastung der Unternehmen und der Rückgang der Einfuhr von Investitionsgütern deuten darauf hin, dass die Investitionstätigkeit deutlich niedriger ist als im Vorjahr. Der Export verlief bis zum Sommer günstig, allerdings lassen die Kursverluste auf den Aktienmärkten der USA und die anhaltenden Schwäche der Binnennachfrage in der EU (besonders in Deutschland) eine Dämpfung des Wachstums der Weltwirtschaft erwarten. Die heimische Inlandsnachfrage entwickelt sich ungünstig. Die Umsätze des Einzelhandels stagnieren, die Bauproduktion sinkt. Infolge der Konjunkturflaute hat sich die Lage auf dem Arbeitsmarkt im Juli beträchtlich verschlechtert.
