Knappheit an Arbeitskräften

Abstract

Die österreichische Wirtschaft benötigt bis 2005 etwa 27.000 zusätzliche Arbeitskräfte pro Jahr. In den letzten Jahrzehnten waren gut ausgebildete Arbeitskräfte leicht zu rekrutieren, weil die Bevölkerung im erwerbsfähigen Alter um rund 30.000 pro Jahr zunahm. In diesem Jahrzehnt wird sie jedoch stagnieren und zwischen 2010 und 2030 sogar um fast 30.000 pro Jahr abnehmen. Die Politik ist deshalb verstärkt gefordert, die Reserven an Arbeitskräften – Arbeitslose, ältere Arbeitskräfte und Frauen – durch Qualifizierung für den Arbeitsmarkt fit zu machen. Soweit dies nicht ausreicht, ist auch die Zahl ausländischer Fachkräfte zu erhöhen.
