Mäßiges Wirtschaftswachstum – erhebliche Beschleunigung im Jahresverlauf. Österreichs Wirtschaft im Jahr 1999

Abstract

Mit +2,2% wuchs Österreichs Wirtschaft 1999 deutlich langsamer als im Jahr zuvor. Sowohl die Exportnachfrage als auch die Investitionen stiegen nur mäßig. Der Konsum der privaten Haushalte entwickelte sich mit 2,4% zufriedenstellend und wirkte stabilisierend auf die Konjunktur. Nachdem das Wirtschaftswachstum im 1. Halbjahr mit 1,5% noch sehr gering ausgefallen war, verstärkte es sich in der zweiten Jahreshälfte wesentlich. Die Beschleunigung hielt auch zu Jahresende an.
