Der Arbeitsmarkt der Akademiker in Österreich im Wandel. Implikationen für das Finanzierungssystem der Universitätsausbildung

Abstract

Die zunehmenden Finanzierungsengpässe des Staates setzen einer Ausweitung der Akademikerbeschäftigung im öffentlichen Sektor, dem wichtigsten Arbeitgeber der Akademiker, Grenzen. Die anhaltende, im internationalen Vergleich allerdings mäßige Zunahme der Zahl der Universitätsabsolventen in Österreich macht deshalb eine verstärkte Akademikerbeschäftigung in der Privatwirtschaft notwendig. Sowohl die Universitätsorganisation und die Universitätslehrer als auch Studenten und Wirtschaftstreibende müssen sich deshalb mit den geänderten Anforderungen des Arbeitsmarktes an die Akademiker der Zukunft auseinandersetzen. Auch die Finanzierung der Universitätsausbildung erscheint im Lichte des Wandels des Akademikerarbeitsmarktes reformbedürftig.
