Sozialquote 1998 das vierte Jahr in Folge gesunken

Abstract

Die Sozialausgaben betrugen 1998 745 Mrd. S – das waren 28,5% des Bruttoinlandsproduktes. Nach einer Phase des Anstiegs in der ersten Hälfte der neunziger Jahre verringerte sich die Sozialquote 1998 das vierte Jahr in Folge. Diese Tendenz dürfte nicht zuletzt aufgrund der starken Konjunktur auch 1999 angehalten haben. Die Maßnahmen im Rahmen der Budgetkonsolidierung werden eine weitere Senkung der Sozialquote im Jahr 2000 zur Folge haben.
