Leichte Belebung der Baukonjunktur in Westeuropa erwartet

Abstract

Nach einem nur mäßigen Wachstum von 1½% im Jahre 1998 wird die Bauwirtschaft in 15 westeuropäischen Ländern 1999 um 2½% und im Jahre 2000 um 2% expandieren. Die Impulse kommen vorwiegend vom Wirtschaftsbau und vom Renovierungs- und Modernisierungssektor. Der Wohnungsneubau bleibt schwach, und der Tiefbau profitiert von der Lockerung der Budgetpolitik. In den Ländern Ost-Mitteleuropas entwickelt sich die Bauwirtschaft nach dem Umstrukturierungsprozeß sehr dynamisch: 1999/2000 werden im Durchschnitt jährliche Zuwächse von 6% erwartet. In Österreich läßt das Wachstum hingegen nach den Boomjahren nach (1999 +2%, 2000 +1½%). Die Ursachen der Wachstumsabschwächung liegen vor allem im Rückgang des Wohnungsneubaus.
