Exporterholung und Steuerreform beschleunigen Wachstum. Prognose für 1999 und 2000

Abstract

Ausgehend von einer Erholung der Export- und Industriekonjunktur beschleunigt sich seit Jahresmitte das Wirtschaftswachstum. Die Expansion des privaten Konsums bildet weiterhin eine verläßliche Stütze für die Konjunktur, im kommenden Jahr erhält sie durch Steuerreform und "Familienpaket" zusätzliche Impulse. Das Wachstum des BIP beträgt heuer real 2,2% und verstärkt sich im Jahr 2000 auf 2,8%. Die Preisstabilität bleibt trotz merklich steigender Erdölnotierungen gewahrt. Die kräftige Zunahme der Inlandsnachfrage bringt einen deutlichen Anstieg der Beschäftigung mit sich; zusammen mit einer Ausweitung arbeitsmarktpolitischer Maßnahmen bewirkt dies im Jahr 2000 einen Rückgang der Arbeitslosenquote (laut Eurostat) auf 4,2%. Die Neuverschuldung der öffentlichen Haushalte erhöht sich auf 2½% des BIP.
