Selbstfinanzierungskraft und Kapitalausstattung im internationalen Vergleich. Cash-flow und Eigenkapital der Industrie im Jahr 1997

Abstract

Der jährliche Bericht über die aktuelle Entwicklung der Selbstfinanzierungskraft der österreichischen Industrie ist seit Jahren fester Bestandteil der laufenden Konjunkturbeobachtung des WIFO. In diesem Jahr gibt es zwei wichtige Neuerungen: Die Verwendung einer neuen Datenquelle erlaubt erstmals, die österreichische Entwicklung im internationalen Vergleich sinnvoll einzuordnen, und die Schätzung der Cash-flow-Umsatzrelation für 1997 beruht auf einem neuen, panelökonometrischen Prognosemodell. Das WIFO schätzt die Cash-flow-Quote für 1997 auf 9,3% der Umsatzerlöse (nach 8,8% 1996). Diese Verbesserung geht auf den Konjunkturaufschwung und die gute Entwicklung der Exporte zurück; zugleich verbesserte sich die internationale Wettbewerbsposition durch Produktionssteigerungen und Kostenentlastungen.
