Die Zuwanderung von Ausländern nach Österreich. Kosten-Nutzen-Überlegungen und Fragen der Sozialtransfers

Abstract

Die Zuwanderungswelle von Ausländern zwischen 1989 und 1996 ist Ausgangspunkt für eine detaillierte Analyse der ökonomischen Effekte von Zuwanderungen. Der Effekt auf das Wirtschaftswachstum und die Wirtschaftsstruktur, auf die Pro-Kopf-Einkommensentwicklung sowie die Einkommensverteilung, auf die Inflationsrate, den technischen Fortschritt, die Produktivität, die Zahlungsbilanz und den Arbeitsmarkt wird genauer untersucht. Besonderes Augenmerk gilt dem Aspekt der Sozialtransfers, da die öffentliche Diskussion zu diesem Thema sehr kontroversiell ist. Der Artikel vergleicht österreichische mit internationalen Forschungsergebnissen zur Frage der Zuwanderung.
