Konjunkturerholung bei hohem Leistungsbilanzdefizit. Prognose für 1997 und 1998

Abstract

Die Expansion der Auslandsnachfrage bildet auch 1997 und 1998 den Wachstumsmotor für die Wirtschaftsentwicklung. Industrieproduktion und Ausrüstungsinvestitionen sind davon begünstigt. Die inländische Nachfrage bleibt vor allem aufgrund restriktiver Fiskalpolitik schwach. Bei einem Wirtschaftswachstum von real 1,2% (1997) und 2,2% (1998) gelingt erst im kommenden Jahr eine Stabilisierung der Arbeitslosigkeit – allerdings auf hohem Niveau. Problematisch entwickelt sich auch die Leistungsbilanz, deren Defizit mehr als 1½% des BIP beträgt.
