Passiver Veredelungsverkehr als Instrument der Handelspolitik und als Unternehmensstrategie

Abstract

Durch den passiven Veredelungsverkehr erhielt die österreichische Wirtschaft die Möglichkeit, arbeitsintensive Produktionsvorgänge ins Ausland (besonders nach Osteuropa) zu verlagern und so ihre internationale Wettbewerbsfähigkeit zu verbessern. Die österreichischen Importe im passiven Veredelungsverkehr stiegen von 1,1 Mrd. S 1988 auf 4,7 Mrd. S 1994. Stark zugenommen hat vor allem der Veredelungsverkehr mit Textilien und Bekleidung, doch machen auch andere Wirtschaftszweige (u. a. die Maschinen- und Fahrzeugindustrie) zunehmend von diesem Instrument Gebrauch.
