Verzögerter Aufschwung im Westen. Die Wirtschaft in den Bundesländern 1994

Abstract

Mit dem Konjunkturaufschwung nahmen die regionalen Disparitäten der Wirtschaftsentwicklung zu. In wichtigen Bereichen der Exportwirtschaft wirkten Kräfte, die den Osten Österreichs begünstigten. Durch eine ungleichmäßige Entwicklung in Sektoren mit hohem Gewicht der Inlandsnachfrage wurden jedoch großräumige Tendenzen überdeckt. Dank der Impulse der Transformation in Ost-Mitteleuropa erholte sich die Industrie der Ostregion rascher als im Westen Österreichs (ausgenommen Salzburg). Die Baukonjunktur verlief regional sehr uneinheitlich: Einem Boom in Vorarlberg, Salzburg, Kärnten und dem Burgenland stand ein realer Umsatzrückgang in Tirol, Oberösterreich und Wien gegenüber. Von der Krise der Tourismuswirtschaft blieb das internationale Städtereiseziel Wien ausgenommen, sie traf intensive Fremdenverkehrsregionen in Kärnten und den westlichen Bundesländern besonders.
