Abstract

Österreich entwickelte sich nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg von einem der ärmsten zu einem der reichsten Staaten des industrialisierten Europa. Viele Analytiker vertreten die Auffassung, daß die Sozialpartnerschaft wesentlichen Anteil an dieser außerordentlichen Expansion trage. Bisher konnte jedoch diese Hypothese theoretisch kaum untermauert werden. Die "Neue Institutionenökonomie" stellt nunmehr dafür das analytische Instrumentarium zur Verfügung. Der Artikel untersucht die Bedeutung der Sozialpartnerschaft für das Wirtschaftswachstum Österreichs im Lichte dieser neueren theoretischen Entwicklung.
