Ansatz zu einer modernen Industrie- und Regionalpolitik am Beispiel Niederösterreichs

Abstract

Die wirtschaftspolitischen und technologischen Umwälzungen durch Ostöffnung und europäische Integration stellen die Wirtschafts- und Regionalpolitik vor neue Herausforderungen. Das WIFO entwirft für Niederösterreich ein Wirtschaftskonzept, das auf Standortvorteilen in einem stärker integrierten Europa aufbaut. Das strategische Ziel der Schaffung eines "Zentralraums" für Mitteleuropa bedingt eine Integration Mitteleuropas, welche zudem die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit der niederösterreichischen Wirtschaft auch auf westlichen Märkten festigt. Das strukturpolitische Instrumentarium stützt sich auf eine Wirtschaftsförderung, die insbesondere auch Investitionen in das immaterielle Kapital von Unternehmen und Netzwerken beeinflußt, sowie auf eine Standortpolitik, die Regionen langfristig attraktiver macht.
