Rezession in Westeuropa wird erst 1994 überwunden

Abstract

Der Konjunkturaufschwung in den Industrieländern verzögert sich: In den USA ist er im Frühjahr ins Stocken geraten, in Westeuropa kann er sich erst im nächsten Jahr durchsetzen. Schuldenabbau und sinkende Zinsen verbessern das Konsum- und Investitionsklima nur allmählich. Mit Ausnahme Japans lassen hohe Budgetdefizite eine Stimulierung der Nachfrage durch die öffentliche Hand nicht zu. Mit +1¼% fällt das Wirtschaftswachstum der OECD-Staaten 1993 schwächer aus als im Vorjahr, 1994 beschleunigt es sich nur mäßig auf 2¾%. Die westeuropäische Wirtschaft wird heuer stagnieren und 1994 um nur 2% wachsen. In den Industrieländern sind 1994 35 Mill. Personen arbeitslos; die Inflationsrate sinkt unter 3%.
