Stabiler Konsum in der Rezession

Abstract

Die Österreicher trachteten in der Vergangenheit in Rezessionen vornehmlich, ihr Konsumziel zu befriedigen. Effekte eines Vorsichtssparen wurden dadurch im Gegensatz zu anderen Ländern in Summe kaum sichtbar. Auch im 1. Halbjahr 1993 scheint dies zu gelten. Nicht zuletzt infolge einer Verringerung der Sparneigung waren die Ausgaben der privaten Haushalte real um rund 1% höher als im Vergleichszeitraum des Vorjahres. Die günstige Entwicklung der Konsumausgaben war der Nachfrage nach nichtdauerhaften Waren und Dienstleistungen zu danken (+2,0%). Die Konjunkturabschwächung spiegeln hingegen die Ausgaben für dauerhafte Konsumgüter – die auf Einkommensänderungen stark reagieren – deutlich (–3,8%).
