Ost-West-Handel 1991/92. Unerwartet günstige Entwicklung

Abstract

Der Ost-West-Handel war 1991 und im 1. Halbjahr 1992 rückläufig. Der Warenaustausch des Westens mit den drei Reformländern in Ost-Mitteleuropa (Ungarn, CSFR, Polen) expandierte hingegen unerwartet kräftig: Real nahmen die OECD-Exporte 1991 um 37%, die Importe um 18% zu. Die Warenstruktur des Ost-West-Handels verschob sich zu höherwertigen Waren. Für westliche Investitionen sind die Länder Ost-Mitteleuropas eine attraktive Zielregion, da sie über gut ausgebildete, aber billige Arbeitskräfte verfügen. Die Monatslöhne machen derzeit nur 7% bis 10% des österreichischen Niveaus aus.
