Abstract

The study is devoted to an exceptionally topical issue−the globalization of theeconomy. Since the beginning of the 1980s the latter has turned into a priority scientificfield of economic sciences. Thestudy draws the attention to the discussion on theglobalization of the economy. The present work has set three interrelated objectives: 1/ to reveal the contemporary state of the discussion on the globalization of the economy; 2/ to seek answers to some of the most important controversial questions by outlining the theoretical grounds for the differences in the views of economists, and 3/ to draw and systematize the positive results of the discussion on the globalization of the economy until the present moment. The main conclusion the author has reached is that although the discussion on the globalization of the economy on a global scale continues with unabated force, the study of globalization has achieved indisputable progress.
