Challenges to Deinstitutionalization of Social Services for Children in Bulgaria

Abstract

The deinstitutionalization is a process. The aim is for children to be removed from the institutions. Family care is essential for children. The aim is to provide for new opportunities to prevent abandonment. Adoption and foster care should be encouraged. Coordination between many different actors in the deinstitutionalization process is needed.
